Today’s featured area — Paris! A local TV station in Paris liked UNITED so much that they aired it every day for a week. One of their reporters then surveyed people on the street and found that they had the same reaction as the staff at the station — they loved it! The public asked the station to air UNITED repeatedly and several admitted they had home recorded it for their own use! UNITED Film Festival held as part of a three-day International Youth Summit (full story and photos) 2nd Annual International Youth Summit 2005 in Los Angeles (full story and photos) May 2005:United Wins Best Short Film Award At New York Independent Film Festival UNITED, an emotionally charged music video with a strong human rights message, landed the coveted Grand Jury prize for best short film at the New York Independent Film Festival held in April 2005. Shown on April 28 as part of the festival schedule, UNITED received enthusiastic audience response and a standing ovation. Following the screening, a reception was held just off Times Square. The packed audience of United Nations diplomats, human rights advocates, religious leaders, filmmakers and artists were treated to a ten-minute making of video. UNITED director, Taron Lexton, is interviewed for the piece and shares some of the more colorful stories and behindthescenes footage from the production of UNITED. |
